MAKING TIME STOP WITH SENIOR PICTURES

JOAN FORD PORTRAITS - EVESHAM TOWNSHIP SENIOR PICTURES

It's mid August and I'm looking at my son and thinking - wow he's a senior now. It's getting really real. I know how fast the next year is going to be. We went thru it last year with our daughter who's about to head off to her 2nd year of college.

And now it'll be Sam doing all the senior things, the fun and the stressful as he's looking towards college. Part of me is trying to loosen the reins and part of me is trying to hold on. And you can bet I'm pulling out my camera, as usual. But this time with more urgency as I beg him to humor me with these requests:

"Sam, could you please wear a polo shirt in one of your pictures?"
(I make every senior wear one thing the parent picks out)

"Sam, we're gonna take your LAST set of pictures in Dad's shirt."
(see bottom of this blog for what that's all about)

"Sam, can I finally bring my big camera and get pictures of you doing one of your sports?"

That last one I accomplished this past weekend. While Sam's mainly a high jumper, its hard to see his face when he jumps. But he's recently taken up hurdles and it's far easier to see his face doing that, so we took some hurdles shots.

You too are probably looking at your senior at home also thinking "how did we get here already?" And wanting the same things that I do:

1. TIME TO STOP (for awhile anyway, it's been going way too fast the last 3 years)

2. And since we can't really stop time, we want to be able to HOLD ON TO THE MEMORIES.  The best way to hang on to those memories is with photographs that show their personality and inner light in the way you know exists but is so hard to capture on a phone image or in the assembly line style of school pictures.

That's where I come in. If you want the kind of images that make you stop in your tracks and really smile, knowing that's really them, in all their glory: their vulnerability and strength, their childishness and adultness, you may want to invest in something more.

I offer a Senior Experience that gives you those kind of images because we take the time to really connect with them where they are now. I will find out what you both are interested in, and we customize a session to fit their vibe. This isn't a cookie cutter process, we don't go to just the same old location every time and do the same thing for everyone. Check out my work and my reviews. If you'd like a spot in the fall, NOW is the time to book cause I've got a limited number of spots available.

ARE YOU READY? CAUSE THEY ARE!

WHY DO YOU NEED MORE SENIOR PICTURES?

I feel very strongly about this. If you can afford it, and yes this is a luxury, why not invest in their future because this is an investment in your family's history too.

The #1 thing people purchase from our sessions are beautiful, archival albums or folio boxes (they buy wall art and announcement cards too). These pieces truly stand the test of time. I'll be proudly displaying Sam's album on my coffee table - for others to view at his grad party and for us to peek at when we're missing him and he's away at college.

This same album will be passed on to him one day when he's on his own. And he may be sharing it with his teen someday. With an album or folio box, he won't have to rely on the current technology to access it. There really is something about holding a custom book in your hands...

OKAY, I WANT IT! NOW HOW DO WE CONNECT WITH YOU?

Dates are filling up fast so the first thing to do is book a consult. This will be a quick zoom call to make sure we are a good fit to work together. We'll go over all the details about the different senior photo sessions we offer and hopefully by the end of our time together you will have a date on our calendar for your senior pictures.

Most of our clients come from the Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia area. But we also have kids from as far away as Delaware and North Jersey. September and October is great times to photograph. It's warm enough for a beach session in a sundress and cool enough to rock sweaters and flannel.

Click the button below to book your consult. I can't wait to work with you! And share this post with a friend!

SO WHAT'S THIS DAD SHIRT THING?

Well I've been photographing my kids for the past 18 years in our adult size clothes to capturing them and their growth. Sam's worn his Dad's white button down 17 times. These are just a few of the pictures I've taken. I'll wait til he turns 18 to get the last one and the project will be complete. This has been a true labor of love.
